The 2025 World Happiness Report (Oxford University) has a powerful message; we underestimate each other’s kindness, and it’s costing us happiness.
The biggest predictor of wellbeing? Not wealth or health, but trust. Believing someone would return your lost wallet says more about happiness than GDP. And here’s the kicker: people are twice as likely to return it as we think.
Also powerful? Sharing a meal. It’s one of the strongest global indicators of wellbeing, yet solo dining has soared – up 53% in the US alone. In an age of rising isolation and polarisation, gathering at the table might be the most underrated act of joy.
🎯 Try this today:
🔹 Assume kindness. Give someone the benefit of the doubt.
🔹 Invite someone to join you for lunch/dinner. It’s a small act with big impact.
