36  Navigating Challenges With Grace and Self-Compassion

Last night, I woke up 3 times to give my son glucose tablets.
He has Type 1 Diabetes and doesn’t wake to his medical alarms, so helping him manage his blood sugars is non-negotiable.

Who needs sleep anyway?

Today I’m tired. But I recognise that I’m also proud.
➡️ Because I showed up when it mattered. And that counts.

💡 Every challenge, personal or professional, drains our energy.
And sometimes the only way to replenish it is with self-compassion.

No judgement.
No dwelling on could/should-haves.
Just acknowledging and owning what’s in your control.

When you know what drives you, and your actions reflect that, self-compassion becomes easier.
You understand the purpose behind the effort.
You recognise what you do and why it matters.

🎯 Try this today:

🔹 Think of a challenge you’re facing.
🔹 Instead of asking, “Why is this so hard?” ask, “What do I need right now?”
🔹 Whether it’s rest, perspective, or kindness, honouring that need is a strength, not a weakness.

👉🏼 Self-kindness boosts performance.
👉🏼 It’s easier when you know what you do best, how you work best, and what drives you.
👉🏼 That’s what my Performance Strategy reveals.

💡 Exceptional results aren’t guessed – they’re engineered.
Lead with your strengths. Align how you operate. Use science to drive strategy.
